Bisita Iglesia - Auckland Version

For Good Friday, we decided to do the traditional bisita iglesia to as many Catholic churches as we can in Auckland.

First stop is St. Mary's Church in Mt Albert

Second church is Christ the King Church in Mt. Roskill.
Next stop: St Therese Church in Mt. Eden.

Then the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Epsom.

Fifth church is the Assumption Church in Onehunga and then followed by St. Michael's Church in Remuera.

St John the Baptist Church, Parnell

And lastly, Sacred Heart Parish in Ponsonby

Bisita iglesia isn't really a Kiwi thing, hence it wasn't surprising that we were the only group praying the stations of the cross. We just thought of doing a bisita iglesia yesterday due to previous plans that went awry - but I guess this was meant to be - we got a chance to visit churches that we haven't been to.

We then capped the day by going to the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial - a park that you pass by when going to the Mission Bay beach. I just love the view here - you can see the Auckland City skyline, Rangitoto Island, and the beach as well.
